Dwarf glorybind
Dwarf glorybind (tricolor mix) - Сonvolvulus tricolor = Сonvolvulus minor.
A mixture of pink, white and blue shades with a yellow-white center. An annual herbaceous, densely branched plant 35 cm tall. Flowers on short pedicels, one at a time in the axils of the leaves, funnel-shaped, up to 4 cm in diameter, tricolor: the corolla limb is bright blue, the middle is white, and the throat of the tube is yellow.
Blooms profusely during June-August. The flowers are open all day, closing only at night and in cloudy weather.
The fruit is a dry capsule with two triangular seeds up to 0.3 cm in diameter, brown in colour. Self-seeding.
Location: blooms especially brightly and profusely in open sunny places. Cold-resistant.
Soil: well-cultivated loamy, non-acidic.
Reproduction: by seeds, which are sown in March in pots or in mid-April in open ground. Shoots appear in 2 weeks, frost-resistant. Planting in a permanent place is carried out in May, maintaining a distance of 20-25 cm between plants. In culture since 1629.
Use: in flower beds, mixborders, borders, on rocky hills, for landscaping balconies and vases.
In 1 g up to 100 seeds, retaining germination for 2-3 years. In culture 1 species is used.
